I’ve been living a lie. #SnowDayGiveaway

I always hear this:

“Meredith, I’m jealous of your complexion.”

I don’t have a great complexion. It’s all a lie! I’m just a product whore, who has luckily happened upon the right beauty items.

I’m super pale.

Think Kristen Stewart.

Except less heroin-y looking and more chubby.

But I have a theory. Fat looks better with a tan. Β The only problem with this theory is that I seem to be allergic to sunshine.

I’ve never had a tan until I discovered the joys of spray tanning.

But there’s a fine line between sun-kissed-spray-tan and slutty-spring-breaker. And sometimes your spray tan lady finds that line and smashes right through it.

spray tan
Plus, spray tanning is expensive. Until now!

I’m going to let you in on my secret, ladies!

fake bake
All you do is spray the mitten with the Fake Bake self tanner, and then rub the mitten where you want to look tan. It has bronzers in the solution, so you can see where you’ve missed.

Do this AFTER you shower. I shower in the morning, so I do this BEFORE getting dressed, while I’m standing there naked, drying my hair.Β You immediately look tan, and it lasts a couple of days before it washes off, but I pretty much do it everyday to keep my tan looking fresh. It doesn’t have a smell, and it dries quickly. I’ve never had a problem with it coming off on my clothes.

The color is subtle – unlike a salon spray tan – and you can control how dark you want go by how many times you take a pass with the mitten on your body.

A $25 bottle of Fake Bake Flawless lasts me about two months in the winter and one month in the summer (I don’t rub it on my legs in the winter). Right now I am rubbing tan on my arms, face (just dab your face a bit on your cheek bones), and chest (because that’s all of the skin I expose in the winter).

Guess what, girlies! I’m giving away THREE bottles today!

There are three ways to enter. And you can enter three times if you wish!

Contest ends tonight at 11:59pm (January 6, 2014).
Fake Bake is not compensating me for this post.

I truly love this product and my readers.
This is my gift to you! Thanks for the past almost-four years!

Hard to pick a day I felt the prettiest – but I’ll go with the day I got married.

The day I felt the prettiest? The day I gave birth to my daughter! I finally felt complete, whole, and loved.

The day I felt the prettiest? Probably going to have to narrow it down to the week I was on my first cruise! Spent most of the week in shorts and tshirts and no makeup and felt gorgeous!

The day I literally felt the prettiest was when I was a debutante. Big white gown, fancy updo, make-up, the whole nine yards.

Prettiest day? Probably my wedding day!

My wedding day for sure. My dress was HOT (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10101619790673425&l=c0f856d08b) and I felt amazing.

Living in FL you would think I wouldn’t need “fake sun” but woe be me. I’m a grad student so I spend my days inside at a desk. Boo.

Hmmm. I guess it was a Christmas party a 1,000 years ago. I was BROKE. My roommate went out and bought a $400 outfit at Banana Republic, and I got a $30 dress at Sears. We went to our work Christmas party and I got so many compliments on my dress (I think mostly b/c I didn’t dress up much back then). She was furious with me for a week! But, I felt like something magic happened that night. It was sweet.

The day I felt prettiest? Hmm. Gonna go with the day after my wedding, walking around Eureka Springs. I still had the awesome hair & the love sparkle in my cheeks. πŸ™‚

I don’t remember.. but it’s probably because I’m in midwinter depression/3 sick kids since Christmas… How bout we go with the last time I didn’t feel fugly. Early November… I think it was a date day and we had a sitter.

Seldom do I actually feel pretty….but I did on the day I got married. No fancy wedding, we went to the courthouse and the judge married us. Then we ran around getting errands done, one of which was changing my DL. And wow, the only time I have ever seen a pretty picture on a DL…..then the DL people mailed it wrong, it went back to them, and I had to redo it πŸ™ So ended up with a DL picture where I look like an alcoholic drug dealer or something….the way it goes I guess, lol.

In November I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding. I wore extensions in my hair for the first time and I felt so fantastic with my long flowing locks (and fake tan! ) Now I’m growing my hair out:)

I have this amazing person in my life who reminds me almost daily how beautiful she thinks I am. My incredible daughter, now 18, tells me that I am the most beautiful person she knows. I look in the mirror and I see the girl-next-door, smart but not “beautiful” by today’s standards. In my daughter’s eyes, I am a beauty queen. What a blessing she (and her brother) are to me. :o)

There are the easy answers, the day I got married, the day I had my kids, the one time I had my makeup done professionally, but my day isn’t any of those. The day I felt prettiest was the day I finished my first 5K at the age of 45. I rocked it sweaty and all, I felt gorgeous inside and out.

I bought this awesome dress for $11 at a resale shop, and wore it this year for my 5th anniversary dinner with my husband. It’s grey with gold polka dots, and when I wore it, I felt skinny and powerful and amazing! I love the way I look in it! Definitely felt the prettiest that day!

This is going to sound crazy, but the day I felt my prettiest was my first day of chemo. I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer and decided that I wasn’t going to go down without a fight, and so on the first day of my chemo, I got all dolled up…I am talking Jackie Kennedy meets Audrey Hepburn glamour. My hair was perfect, my nails were done…freshly done makeup with eyeshadow to match my eyes…I wore a pink dress, with this big Kentucky Derby style pink floppy hat…even had a triple strand pearl necklace, pearl stud earrings and a pearl bracelet…and I brought my own champagne glass that I proudly poured my Ensure style drink into and sipped it like it was the most expensive champagne in the world…

I looked smokin hot one night in college about 10 years ago… I had on these jean capri’s on from Abercrombie (hahhaahha) that had a leather lace up thing instead of a zipper. I felt straight up like Britney spears with those babies on and a crop peasant top thing… thank god there was no facebook at the time because I have no desire to see a picture of that outfit… just the picture in my mind.

Oh boy! I am SOOOOO wrong for this. The day I felt the prettiest was my bachelorette party. I was with all my ladies dressed to kill and the center of attention. I felt AMAZING!! Like Pac, All eyez on me!

I agree – my fat looks less, well, fat when I use tanner lol. My prettiest? The day I saw my ex at a christmas party when I was with my now husband on our first date…rumour had it he was showing up with a new gal but was worried that I’d freak, so I showed up with a taller, handsomer version who loved the way I looked that night so much we’ve never been apart again πŸ™‚ Pretty pretty purple sequins and palozzo pants…with an open, tanned, back πŸ™‚

I felt the absolute prettiest the day I found out I was pregnant. How can you NOT feel pretty when you find out you are pregnant?! Now, 9 months later, I feel like a whale. Go figure!

Well…not anywhere close to being married or getting pregnant, so August 1999: When I went to my first and only Backstreet Boys concert. My mom picked me up from camp at the coast (everyone was jealous I got to leave mid-week) and we went to Santa Monica and got pretty for the concert. I was 12 and thought I was hot shit in my tank top/overalls combination.

    Awesome give away!

I feel the prettiest anytime the boyfriend can’t keep his hands off me! Not to be confused with the comment he made the other day: “You’re having a good hair day today, oh and a good face day”. Thanks?

The day I felt prettiest was my first ‘official’ date with my now hubby! He was my crush for-ever (being 4 years older then I in HS)..years later Fate found us..and after that first date…we were ‘never not an item’…(and ya gotta know here..he was my huge crush in HS..he was a Sr when I a freshman..he was cool..me..oh so not! He didn’t even know I existed…but OH Hell! I knew he did..lol!) So now…almost 20 years since that first date…we are happily married, have 2 girls together…and I have days through the years where I wanted to ‘flee the flock’….I never did…days when I can honestly say….’I don’t really like you right now, but I DO love you!’ (hehe)….Would love to try the “FakeBake” product…I haven’t had much luck with self tanners..and have I think used MOST brands..even the pricey ones (estee, clinique, ect) and they came out making me look like I was a pumpkin with white liver spots…eek! πŸ™‚ OK..MER..will tweet this too! πŸ˜‰

I felt prettiest the third day of our honeymoon.
I woke up and went out on the patio while my hubby was still sleeping. I sat out there drinking coffee and when he came out he took one look at me and said “DAMN!”
I hadn’t even looked in the mirror but knowing that I had bedhead and no makeup on and didn’t care made me feel gorgeous.
The combination of honeymoon glow, my freckles going insane from the sunshine, and the free cocktails apparently turned me into a goddess!!

i felt very pretty on my wedding day, but i was still young and not sure who i was (i think). my husband and i went on a cruise after we’d been married a few years and we dressed for dinner every night. formal night was the best – i had an awesome knee-lenth strapless party dress (black with pink and red roses) and he wore a black suit. i felt so beautiful that night. we went around the ship and had the ‘professional’ photos taken and looking back at them, i was beautiful that night. it wasn’t just the outfit though – it was the confidence i had developed as a woman, being comfortable in my own skin.

it’s very, very pale skin, but still.

The day I felt the prettiest was when I was probably 13 years old. I grew up with a gorgeous cousin. I was always the fatter, dumpier and uglier of the two. My family often made comments about how slender she was compared to my pudge. In fact, one time my aunts, cousin and I were eating at a restaurant and my aunts argued over who was going to pay for our meals. They both wanted to pay for my cousins because she wouldn’t eat as much as I did. It was HELL on my confidence and I still have zilch today. Anyway, we went to a dance when I was 13 and she was 14. Of course, my cousin always got the attention from the boys until this one time….when I was asked to dance instead of her. I can still see what I’m wearing and hear the song that was playing. FINALLY, I had been chosen.

I felt prettiest at my baby shower. I miss being pregnant so much….sometimes. However, since having a child I started taking care of my skin and stopped laying in the sun with baby oil on. I love being tan. Please pick me.

I hate wearing my glasses. I wear contacts as often as I can, but some days contacts don’t work out. Stupid eyes. A few weeks ago I put my glasses on and walked into the bedroom where my boyfriend (of 5 years) immediately kissed me and said, “Hey, Sexy, where’d you come from?” He’s not much for giving compliments, but he happens to find my glasses super adorable. I feel amazingly pretty when he says things like that [while I’m fully clothed… and probably wearing one of his button downs and leggings or something].
